Manchester City will face off against Barcelona on Tuesday night in a Champions League last-16 game. This is the game of the round with soccer fans around the world eager to see how an exciting City team will fare against the Spanish giants, widely considered by many to have been the best team in the world over the past decade.
Tonight's game will kick off at 2.45 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
City and Barcelona have amazingly never played against one another in a competitive game before, so both teams will be moving into unknown territory. They have played six friendlies against one another in the past, with each team winning three of those encounters.
The English Premier League team is being touted as one of the most exciting in the world at the moment, seemingly scoring goals at ease throughout the season, and demolishing numerous sides this term.
Barcelona are still recognized as one of the most established powerhouses in world football, however, they have struggled to maintain their amazing form of 3 to 4 years ago when Pep Guardiola was in charge.
Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has slammed Barcelona as the worst Barca team for years in the run up to this week's Champions League fixtures. However, not many would argue that a struggling Barca team is still a force to reckon with – they are currently top of the Spanish La Liga, and still have more power and skill on their bench than most European teams could wish for in their starting line up.
The City boss has said, "Of course when you play against Barca you always must consider important things. But the most important thing is to continue being the same team you see every week in Premier League, to continue having the same style of play and the personality. We are not just going to think about defending, but what we can do with the ball. That is the most important thing."
